Ajman:A legal seminar organized by the Ajman Arbitration Centre, which is affiliated with the Ajman Chamber, focused on updates to the 'Regulation on the Registration of Arbitrators and Experts at the Ajman Arbitration Centre for the Year 2026.' The seminar detailed the criteria and requirements necessary for the registration of arbitrators and experts.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event was conducted in collaboration with the Higher Institute for Legal Training and the Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal Professionals. It aimed to enhance understanding of arbitration practices and foster the development of specialized legal skills.
Hindi Obaid Al Matrooshi, Secretary-General of the Ajman Arbitration Centre, participated in the seminar via video conference. He was joined by legal and arbitration specialists and experts from various professional disciplines. Al Matrooshi emphasized the seminar's significance given the increasing importance of arbitration as a swift and flexible method for resolving commercial disputes. He highlighted the necessity for skilled and specialized arbitrators and experts who adhere to well-defined standards reflecting economic sector developments and business community needs.
Registration at the Ajman Arbitration Centre is open to seasoned professionals across various fields, including commercial, financial, engineering, accounting, legal, and other technical areas. Al Matrooshi noted that updating the Regulation and clarifying its application mechanisms marks a significant advancement in Ajman's arbitration system. This move aims to strengthen confidence in dispute resolution procedures, create a more stable and transparent business environment, and enhance Ajman's appeal to investors and businesses.
The seminar also addressed the frameworks and procedures for registration, the criteria for classifying and selecting arbitrators and experts, and the mechanisms for renewing registration.
