Arab Mini Football Federation Sets Stage for Clubs Championship in Libya Next Year

Dubai: The Arab Mini Football Federation, led by Saeed Al Ajel and headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, has approved the organization of the Arab Clubs Championship in Libya next September. This decision accompanies plans for development courses for referees and coaches, the launch of a new official website, and the adoption of the federation's activities calendar for the upcoming period.

According to Emirates News Agency, the federation reached these decisions during its second meeting, conducted via video conference, which saw participation from members representing the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tunisia, Mauritania, Syria, Sudan, Iraq, and Libya. The members also tentatively agreed to explore the possibility of hosting the Arab National Teams Championship in either November 2026 or April 2027, aligning it with upcoming Asian and international tournaments.

The federation also approved the minutes from the previous meeting and the organization of three to four annual training courses and development forums for referees and coaches. These initiatives are recognized as vital for the sport's continued growth. Multiple member countries have shown interest in hosting these programs, with final venue decisions to be announced later.

To further enhance visibility and communication, the federation launched its official website and communication channels. These platforms aim to showcase events, strengthen ties with member federations, and keep them informed about approved programs and developments.

Saeed Al Ajel highlighted that the upcoming competition calendar includes several major events: the Asian National Teams Cup in Indonesia in August, the Arab Clubs Championship in Libya in September, the Women's and Under-23 World Cup in Croatia in October, and the Africa Cup of Nations in January 2027. He emphasized that November 2026 or April 2027 are the most feasible dates for the Arab National Teams Championship.

Additionally, Al Ajel mentioned proposals from member countries regarding future calendars and working committees, which include the competitions, marketing, finance, and media committees. These proposals are designed to support the sport's expansion across the Arab region and help achieve the federation's objectives post-establishment.

He also commended the cooperative spirit among member countries in promoting the sport's development and broadening its reach, reflecting the federation's commitment to enhancing mini football's profile and influence.
