Istanbul: Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, has made a compelling call to national, regional, and international parliaments to issue a clear condemnation of Iran's aggressive actions against Arab countries. Al Yamahi emphasized the importance of rejecting any practices that infringe on these nations' sovereignty, threaten their security, and jeopardize the safety of maritime routes.
According to Emirates News Agency, Al Yamahi highlighted that such a collective stance would reinforce respect for international law, promote accountability, and serve as a deterrent against future violations. His call to action was part of a keynote address at the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Istanbul, Trkiye.
Al Yamahi further noted that the recent Iranian attacks pose a significant threat to the security and stability of several Arab countries, particularly the Gulf states. He argued that these should not be seen as isolated incidents but as part of a broader threat landscape.
He also insisted that any negotiations aimed at mitigating these tensions must include the affected countries as active participants. Ensuring that these nations are part of the dialogue will help achieve sustainable agreements that align with their legitimate security interests.
