Bahrain Denounces Iranian Drone Attack on ADNOC Tanker in Strait of Hormuz


Manama: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian attack on a tanker belonging to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The tanker was targeted using two drones while passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The incident has been labeled a violation of international law, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the resolutions of the International Maritime Organization, and UN Security Council Resolution No. (2817).



According to Emirates News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Bahrain’s solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and expressed complete support for the measures the UAE is taking to protect its interests. The statement from Bahrain emphasized the importance of Iran halting all hostile acts and restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. This is deemed essential for ensuring energy security, stabilizing food and medicine supplies, maintaining the flow of global trade, promoting economic growth, and ensuring security and stability in the region and globally.
