Bangui: The Central African Republic's government has taken decisive action by closing down a gold mining site, Zamboye, following a catastrophic collapse that claimed the lives of over 100 individuals earlier this week. The closure decision was made in response to the site's failure to adhere to necessary regulatory procedures.

According to Emirates News Agency, Ruffin Benam Beltoungou, the Minister of Mines and Geology, officially announced the shutdown of the site located in the western part of the country. The closure was attributed to 'non-compliance with mining standards and non-compliance with administrative directives,' as authorities continue their investigation into the tragic incident.
