DUBAI: In a significant move to foster youth involvement in technological innovation and leadership, Digital Dubai announced the formation of a new Youth Council during the GITEX Global 2024 event held at the Dubai Government Pavilion today. The council comprises young professionals from various departments within the Authority and aims to enhance their role in future-building initiatives. According to Emirates News Agency, the decision to establish the "Digital Dubai Youth Council" was made by Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai. The council will be led by Reem Al Falasi as Chairperson and Khalifa Juma Bin Thaleth as Vice President, with members including Abdel Khaliq Murad Mohammed Ahmed, Maitha Nasser Muthanna Nasser, Badr Abdullah Khalaf Al Ghaith, Maryam Sufian bin suloom Al Falasi, and Hamda bin Zayed Al Falasi, who also serves as the General Coordinator. Tariq Yousef Al Janahi, CEO of the Corporate Enablement Sector at Digital Dubai, highlighted the initiative as a reflection o f Digital Dubai's commitment to empowering the youth. "At Digital Dubai, we recognize the vital role our young talents play in leading the digital transformation process," Al Janahi stated. He further emphasized that the council's formation at GITEX Global 2024 is strategic, providing a platform to showcase the future led by youth, whose qualifications and high ambitions are inspired by their faith in the nation and wise leadership. The council aims to enhance youth contributions to innovative projects and prepare future leaders by equipping them to take on responsibilities in an era characterized by rapid transformation and innovation. Al Janahi also thanked the Dubai Youth Council and the Federal Youth Authority for their support in the council's formation and governance. Hassan Sabt, President of the Dubai Youth Council, expressed pride in the establishment of the Digital Dubai Youth Council and reiterated the essential role of the youth in shaping Dubai's digital future. 'Youth are the cornerstone of ac hieving innovation and sustainability in technology and digitisation,' Sabt stated, promising close collaboration with other youth councils to drive digital development. Reem Al Falasi, Chairperson of the Digital Dubai Youth Council, expressed her honor in leading the council and her commitment to fulfilling the expectations set forth. "We have learned from our wise leadership that innovation, creative thinking, and the spirit of the youth form the equation for intelligent interaction with this era of technology and change," Al Falasi noted.
