Dubai Department of Economy and DHL Partner to Boost Export Readiness

Dubai:The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), in collaboration with DHL, has conducted a workshop aimed at enhancing the export readiness of over 50 Dubai-based manufacturers. This initiative, part of the Export Assistance Programme (EAP), provided practical resources to help manufacturers compete in international markets.

According to Emirates News Agency, the workshop, led by DHL experts, offered insights into global logistics, supply chain planning, and international connectivity. It was a result of the strategic partnership between DET and DHL, which was announced during the Make it in the Emirates 2026 event in May. The partnership offers eligible EAP members benefits such as preferential shipping rates and customized logistics solutions to simplify the export process.

Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Acting Associate Vice President of Manufacturing and Exports Development at the Dubai Economic Development Corporation, emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in providing practical support to Dubai's manufacturers. This collaboration aims to equip manufacturers with the necessary tools to expand internationally and contribute to the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.

Mahmoud Haj Hussein, Managing Director of DHL Express UAE, highlighted the potential for Dubai's manufacturers to grow beyond the UAE. He noted that the partnership with DET combines DHL's global network and expertise with practical support to simplify international trade and help businesses reach new markets.

The initiative aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which seeks to more than double the manufacturing value-added output by 2033. By reducing trade barriers and enhancing logistics expertise access, DET aims to strengthen Dubai's position as a leading trade and manufacturing hub. Through the EAP, manufacturers are connected with essential services, addressing market needs and enabling them to manage export-related risks effectively.
