DUBAI: H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, and H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with Professor Klaus Schwab, the Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, on the sidelines of the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils. According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting, which was part of a larger event organized by the UAE Government and the World Economic Forum, took place in Dubai from October 15th to 17th. The event brought together 500 experts from around the world to discuss future challenges and opportunities in various sectors. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed and Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed attended the opening of this significant gathering. During the discussions, Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed highlighted the UAE's commitment to strengthening international partnerships to advance global progress and innovation. He stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between the UAE Government and the World Economic Forum in shaping the future through robust international cooperation and innovative solutions. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed emphasized the crucial role of international forums in promoting global knowledge exchange and developing new strategies to benefit communities worldwide. She praised the Global Future Councils for their efforts in enhancing human knowledge and contributing to future planning with scientific foresight. Professor Klaus Schwab expressed his gratitude for the longstanding partnership with the UAE Government, noting the positive global impact of their collaboration. He commended the UAE for its hospitality and the successful organization of the annual event, which has been co-hosted with the UAE Government for over 15 years. The meeting also included key UAE officials such as Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Co-Chair of the Global Future Councils, and Omar Sultan Al O lama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications. The 2024 Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils aims to foster a deeper understanding of the dynamics shaping the future of economies and societies, enhancing cooperation to tackle global challenges and seize emerging opportunities. The councils discussed strategies to boost economic development, build human capacities, and prepare the workforce for future demands, promoting innovative thinking to achieve a more resilient and sustainable future.
