Dubai Unveils #ZayedAndRashid Campaign to Commemorate UAE National Occasions

DUBAI: Dubai has launched the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, a month-long initiative designed to celebrate the UAE Flag Day and the 53rd Union Day. The campaign promises a series of events from November 3 to December 2, showcasing Dubai's historical achievements and cultural diversity, while offering a glimpse into the UAE's rich heritage. According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed has dedicated this initiative to honor the UAE's founding fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, in recognition of their pivotal roles in establishing the Union. The campaign seeks to strengthen national identity within UAE society and introduce visitors to the visionary leaders who have significantly impacted the country's history and legacy. Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, highlighted the collaboration among various entities to enrich the national festivities and showcase Dubai's vibrant spirit. Al Marri emphasized th e vital role of media in covering the celebrations, which will take place across Dubai's neighborhoods, malls, and landmarks. Dubai Culture and Arts Authority will host events at cultural sites like Hatta Heritage Village and Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. Al Shindagha Museum will provide a cultural experience linking past and present through performances and exhibitions. The Etihad Museum will focus on the history of the UAE's Union with cultural events and interactive displays. Expo City Dubai will feature a concert by the Firdaus Orchestra, and Al Wasl Plaza will host the Emirati Harvest Market. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs will celebrate with events at Dubai Airports, emphasizing maritime heritage. A community event in Hatta will celebrate Eid Al Etihad, featuring a film on the Founding Fathers. Dubai Airports will present cultural events, and a Union Day Parade will take place at City Walk. Fireworks displays will light up iconic locations on December 2 and 3. Seaso nal markets and promotions at restaurants and hotels will further enhance the festivities. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority will promote national identity through a community campaign with weekly themes. The Roads and Transport Authority will decorate streets and bridges, while Wasl Asset Management Group will light up its buildings, hosting workshops and events throughout the campaign.
