Sharjah: The Economic Development Department (SEDD) in Sharjah, together with its subsidiary, the Sharjah Foundation for Supporting Entrepreneurship (RUWAD), is actively participating in the latest edition of the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ Forum. This initiative is part of their commitment to supporting the industrial sector, enhancing the investment environment, and enabling entrepreneurs to capitalize on the opportunities available within the country’s industrial sphere.
According to Emirates News Agency, this participation aligns with Sharjah’s strategy to establish itself as a prime location for industrial investments. The initiative aims to support the growth of national projects and improve the competitiveness of local industries by offering flexible and incentivizing services. Hamad Ali Abdulla Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman and Member of the Executive Council, emphasized that the department’s engagement in the forum underscores its ongoing dedication to fostering industrial development and creating a conducive environment for business expansion. Al Mahmoud highlighted that the forum serves as a vital national platform, uniting investors, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers to explore manufacturing and investment prospects.
Al Mahmoud further noted that through their involvement in the Make it in the Emirates Forum, they are committed to introducing practical and encouraging initiatives that expedite the launch of new industrial projects. This aligns with the country’s vision of transitioning towards a diversified knowledge-based economy. Empowering investors and simplifying procedures are considered crucial elements to enhance the industrial sector’s competitiveness in Sharjah.
During the forum, the Department is launching a special initiative offering an instant industrial license for AED1,000, covering all permitted industrial activities within the Emirate. SEDD’s participation aims to establish direct communication channels with leading manufacturers and international companies attending the forum. This effort is intended to forge partnerships that facilitate the transfer of technology and knowledge to local factories, ultimately improving the quality of products labeled “Made in Sharjah” and boosting their presence in global markets.
