ABU DHABI: EDGE, a prominent advanced technology and defense group, and Baykar, a leading Turkish company in unmanned aerial vehicle and artificial intelligence technology, have entered into a partnership to enhance unmanned aerial systems (UAS) capabilities. This collaboration was formalized through a Cooperation Agreement at the SAHA Expo 2024. According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement was signed by Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE, and Haluk Bayraktar, CEO of Baykar. The partnership aims to integrate EDGE's guided munitions and payloads onto Baykar's UAS platforms, with Baykar spearheading the integration efforts. EDGE will provide technical support in designing, manufacturing, and equipping necessary components to ensure efficient integration and meet market demands. Both companies view this agreement as a means to strengthen their market presence and capabilities. Al Marar emphasized the significance of the collaboration, highlighting its potential to address evolving market nee ds and enhance customer offerings. He also noted the strategic importance of partnering with Turkey's established defense entities to leverage its robust ecosystem. Bayraktar echoed these sentiments, recognizing the growing defense relations between the UAE and Turkey. He remarked on the significance of the partnership in integrating EDGE-developed munitions into Baykar's platforms, underlining the UAE's role as Turkey's largest trade partner in the Middle East. The cooperation is seen as a commitment to innovation and supply chain resilience, with a focus on delivering high-performance solutions efficiently.
