Cairo: Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Fujairah Emiri Diwan, recently convened to discuss the necessary procedures for progressing the Fujairah Alamein Oil and Gas project. This meeting, held at the Egyptian government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, focused on the steps needed following the establishment of the company.

According to Emirates News Agency, the session included key figures such as Karim Badawi, Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; Salah Abdel Kerim, Chairman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation; and other prominent officials from both Egypt and Fujairah. Prime Minister Madbouly warmly welcomed the Fujairah delegation and emphasized the Egyptian government's commitment to the strategic project, which has gained the attention of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The project, symbolizing the enduring ties between Egypt and the UAE, aims to establish the Fujairah Alamein Oil and Gas private free zone in New Alamein. This zone will focus on storage and trading of petroleum products and crude oil, with an emphasis on rapid operational commencement to benefit both nations.

Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani expressed gratitude for the Egyptian government's support, particularly acknowledging the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' role. He highlighted the enthusiasm of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah, for deepening cooperation with Egypt and expediting project execution.

The project steps, reviewed during the meeting, are geared towards enhancing Egypt's position as a regional energy hub. The development at El-Hamra Port is a focal point, with collaboration aimed at integrating Fujairah's expertise and technology to align with international standards.

Karim Badawi underscored the project's significance and the robust support from both governments. He noted that joint teams are diligently coordinating to finalize procedures and establish a timeline for implementation, reinforcing the ministry's dedication to overcoming challenges and ensuring project success.

Concluding the meeting, Dr. Madbouly committed to regular oversight of the project's progress, aspiring to replicate the success model seen in Fujairah and solidify the project's role as a pivotal component of Egypt's energy infrastructure.
