Emirates and Crypto.com Unveil Digital Payment Solution for Flights

Abu dhabi: Emirates has officially launched Crypto.com PayS, enabling its customers to use the digital payment method on the airline's website and app platforms. Customers with a Crypto.com account making bookings on emirates.com and the Emirates App can now opt for Crypto.com PayS at checkout. Transactions are processed securely and adhere to UAE regulatory standards, with the service available to eligible UAE residents for bookings priced and settled in Emirati Dirham (AED).

According to Emirates News Agency, the launch marks the execution of a partnership between Crypto.com and Emirates announced in July 2025. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed to explore integrating Crypto.com PayS into the airline's digital payment systems. Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, stated that this initiative fulfills their commitment to expanding customer payment options, catering to a younger, digitally savvy generation. He emphasized the swift transition from the initial agreement to the service launch, crediting both teams and the supportive regulatory environment of the UAE.

Eric Anziani, President and Chief Operating Officer of Crypto.com, expressed that partnering with Emirates is a significant achievement for Crypto.com and its Pay feature. He highlighted the collaboration as evidence of the UAE's progressive stance on innovation, supporting Emirates' venture into the digital payments sector.

The integration is facilitated by Crypto.com's Dubai entity, the first Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) to receive a Stored Value Facilities (SVF) license from the Central Bank of the UAE. It operates within the SVF framework's scope. Customers booking flights can choose Crypto.com Pay at checkout, with mobile users directed to the Crypto.com app to complete the payment before returning to the Emirates App for booking confirmation. Desktop users scan a QR code to authorize payment via the Crypto.com app, after which booking confirmation and e-tickets are issued.

This initiative aligns with the Dubai Cashless Strategy under the D33 Economic Agenda, aiming to digitize 90% of financial transactions across government and private sectors by 2026. It also extends Emirates' collaboration with Dubai Finance to enhance digital payments and follows Crypto.com's partnership with Dubai Finance for digital government services payments.
