Dubai: The Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) and Dubai Customs have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at GITEX Global 2024 to enhance Emiratisation in the private sector, focusing on logistics. This strategic partnership aims to increase employment opportunities for Emiratis through specialized training and direct recruitment initiatives. According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed at a ceremony during GITEX Global 2024. Representing the EHRDC was Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Deputy Chairman of the Council and Director-General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department. Dr. Abdulla Mohammed Busenad, Director-General of Dubai Customs, represented his organization. The agreement includes the development of vocational training programs tailored for the logistics sector under the supervision of Dubai Customs. This initiative is designed to prepare Emirati candidates for specialized roles within this industry. Furthermore, the EHRDC will facilitate the process of matching qualified Emiratis with relevant job opportunities and provide ongoing support to enhance their career development within the private sector. Additional facets of the partnership involve organizing job fairs and career exhibitions to improve communication between companies and Emirati job seekers. The collaboration also includes conducting surveys to identify employment challenges and developing innovative solutions to address these issues. Sultan Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Emirati Human Resources Development Council, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership, stating, "This partnership empowers our mission to increase Emirati representation in the private sector. By joining forces with Dubai Customs, we are laying the foundation for an effective and sustainable model to empower Emirati talent and ensure their active participation in key sectors such as logistics.
