European Markets See Gains Despite French Decline

Abu Dhabi:Most European shares closed higher with the pan-European STOXX 600 index ending the day with a 0.4% increase. This comes after the index had reached a four-month low the previous week due to rising global bond yields.

According to Emirates News Agency, French stocks experienced a downturn, with the CAC 40 index dropping 0.8%, marking its lowest point in six months amidst ongoing fiscal concerns.

In contrast, Spain's IBEX index performed well, gaining 1.1% and leading the regional markets. The mining sector showed notable strength across Europe, climbing 1.5%, contributing to the overall positive performance of European stocks.
