European Shares Decline Amid Rising Oil Prices and Bond Yields

Abu Dhabi:European shares ended lower as oil prices climbed back above $100 a barrel, leading to an increase in government bond yields.

According to Emirates News Agency, the pan-European STOXX 600 index fell by 0.4% by the end of the trading session, reversing its earlier gains. Most major European stock markets also experienced declines.

Most sectors within the STOXX 600 saw losses, with the exception of the energy sector, which rose by 1.3%. Banking stocks, regarded as heavyweights, decreased by 0.4%. The insurance sector and construction and materials sector recorded the largest declines, falling by 1.7% and 1.3%, respectively.
