Abu dhabi: The Federal Public Prosecution in the UAE has launched a groundbreaking digital system powered by artificial intelligence, designed to streamline and enhance the efficiency of its criminal justice procedures. This innovative system is part of the UAE's broader initiative to integrate advanced digital technologies into government operations, aligning with the national directive for digital transformation. According to Emirates News Agency, the system was developed in collaboration with AI71, a key player in AI solutions for the public and private sectors and a unit of the Advanced Technology Research Council. The partnership was formalized through an agreement signed at the Office of the Attorney General and the Federal Prosecutions in Abu Dhabi by Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Advisor to the UAE President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs, and UAE Attorney General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi. The AI-based system is tailored to support the UAE's criminal legal framework, with capab ilities to be adapted for use in various international legal contexts. It features advanced tools for legal research, data analysis, and the organization of case details, and it facilitates the swift retrieval and application of legal principles to ongoing cases. This system is expected to significantly enhance the precision and efficacy of judicial decisions by providing comprehensive legal insights and speeding up the criminal justice processes. Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi highlighted the system as a key milestone in the Public Prosecution's strategic vision to employ cutting-edge technology and AI, thus fostering greater speed, efficiency, and transparency in the criminal justice system. He stressed the system's role in supporting the development of innovative solutions aimed at improving judicial processes and expediting criminal cases.
