Rabat: The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO) are set to jointly organise the 5th edition of the Youth Knowledge Forum (YKF) in Rabat, Morocco, from September 7th to 8th. This year's forum will operate under the theme 'From Crisis to Sustainability', marking the second time it is held in Rabat.

According to Emirates News Agency, the announcement aligns with International Youth Day and highlights the collaborative efforts to empower youth and enhance their role in future development. The forum aims to bring together young people, decision-makers, experts, and specialists to discuss global challenges.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, emphasized the forum's role as a platform for youth empowerment and a catalyst for fostering entrepreneurship and investment at both local and regional levels. He noted that these efforts, led by the UAE, are crucial for developing the business landscape and encouraging innovative entrepreneurial projects, which support economic growth and strengthen the role of youth in society.

Dr. Salim M. AlMalik, Director-General of ICESCO, remarked that hosting the YKF for the second time underscores ICESCO's commitment to supporting youth, enhancing their creative skills, and equipping them with the necessary knowledge and expertise. He highlighted that youth, who make up about 60 percent of the Islamic world, are essential to formulating future-focused strategies for overcoming challenges and seizing opportunities.

The first day of the forum will feature a panel discussion on global crises expected in 2026 and sustainability as a response strategy, along with insights from experts. Sessions will also explore youth leadership in crisis management, recovery, and growth opportunities, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On the second day, discussions will focus on the future of jobs and skills, with an emphasis on the impact of crises on employment, market-aligned skills, and bridging the education-employment gap. The forum will draw on national experiences to guide youth in future project endeavors.

Additionally, the forum will include a session on youth-led crisis response models in ICESCO member states, sharing resilience project lessons, and exploring practical ways to turn commitments into action.
