Abu Dhabi:Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, head of the Federal National Council (FNC) Group in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, met with Oleksandr Korniyenko, Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, during the 153rd IPU Assembly in Tanzania.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing parliamentary cooperation and the importance of continued coordination in regional and international parliamentary forums. Both parties discussed exchanging views on issues of joint interest on the IPU Assembly's agenda.

Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering understanding and dialogue among nations. He noted the efforts of the IPU Task Force in resolving the conflict in Ukraine and highlighted the need for coordinated international parliamentary support for peace efforts.

Both sides praised the existing bilateral relations between the UAE and Ukraine, expressing their commitment to further developing cooperation to benefit both countries. The meeting was attended by several FNC members.
