PARIS: Israeli companies have been banned from participating in a major naval arms trade show in Paris, according to the event's organizers. According to Jordan News Agency, the exclusion of Israeli firms from the trade show follows unsuccessful French attempts to mediate a truce in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, coupled with an escalation in Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon. This marks the second instance in 2023 where France has prohibited Israeli companies from attending a significant defense exhibition. Euronaval, the organizer of the show, which is slated for November 4-7 in Paris, detailed the French government's directive in a statement. "The French government has informed it that Israeli delegations are not allowed to exhibit platforms or equipment at the exhibition," the statement read, noting that the ban will affect seven companies. The decision aligns with a statement made in May by France citing unfavorable conditions for Israeli company participation. Concurrently, French Pr esident Emmanuel Macron has urged Israel to halt military operations in Gaza. Responses from the Defense Ministry, the Foreign Ministry, and the Israeli Embassy were not available at the time of reporting.
