Dubai:H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dubai Future Foundation, attended the launch of the 'Dubai Future Regulations Team'. This initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness of Dubai's legislative, innovation, and economic ecosystems.
According to Emirates News Agency, the team, established under the supervision of Dubai Future Foundation and the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai, includes representatives from 25 government entities. It is designed to reinforce Dubai's position as a future-ready city by developing a global model for legislative readiness in response to technological advances.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of flexible legislation for building a successful future economy. He stated that Dubai is leading the way in legislative innovation by integrating collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive economic growth and global competitiveness.
The launch was attended by several officials, including Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications; Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar, Secretary General of the Supreme Legislation Committee; and Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation.
The 'Dubai Future Regulations Team' aims to anticipate legislative opportunities and challenges, expand partnerships, and strengthen legislative expertise within government entities. The initiative will focus on developing policies and regulations that support emerging technologies, economic, and societal transformations.
A key component of the team's work will involve collaboration with University College London (UCL) to offer a capacity-building programme. This will include workshops, expert discussions, and international visits to study best practices in legislative development.
By working together, the team intends to create an integrated framework for implementing legislation and develop solutions to legislative challenges, ensuring Dubai's readiness for future developments and opportunities.
