Ajman: The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) has unveiled plans for a new campus in Masfout, Ajman, set to open in September 2026. This development aims to broaden access to applied and vocational higher education for students in Masfout, Hatta, and surrounding regions. The campus will initially accommodate up to 120 students and offer diploma programs in business administration and computer and information science, aligning with current labor-market demands.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, emphasized that the new campus is a vital addition to Ajman's educational landscape. It supports Masfout's development in line with directives from H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman. Sheikh Ammar highlighted that education is essential for human development and sustainable progress, noting the commitment to providing equitable educational opportunities in a modern learning environment.
Sheikh Ammar also pointed out that the campus will alleviate travel burdens for students and their families, create academic and professional opportunities, and contribute to the growth of Masfout and nearby areas. The programs offered are designed to align with the UAE's focus on digital economy expansion, artificial intelligence applications, and innovative business models. He expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, HCT, and all contributors to the campus project.
Dr. Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stated that the campus reflects the UAE's dedication to expanding higher education access, particularly in technical and vocational fields. The programs will equip students with practical skills aligned with key economic sectors, fostering equitable education access and sustainable development.
Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chancellor of HCT, noted that the new campus will bring applied higher education closer to students in Masfout and neighboring communities, offering skills necessary for the national economy's needs. He described HCT's education model as one that turns knowledge into practical expertise, enabling students to adapt to economic and technological changes and contribute to the national economy's growth.
Dr. Faisal Alayyan, President and CEO of HCT, explained that the Masfout Campus exemplifies HCT's flexible applied education model, connecting academic programs with economic opportunities. The campus will cater to students from various areas, initially offering the Applied Digital Transformation Diploma and the Sales and Marketing Diploma, along with modern educational facilities.
HCT, founded in 1988, serves over 25,000 students and has graduated more than 90,000 alumni. The institution boasts an employment rate exceeding 82 percent from 2019 to 2025, with a significant portion of employed graduates working in the private sector, supported by the Nafis program. HCT attracts over 6,000 students annually and is poised for further growth, with graduate numbers expected to surpass 6,100 in 2026.
