The Independent Election Commission Chairperson (IEC), Musa Maaytah, Wednesday announced the approval of the preliminary results of the twentieth House of Representatives elections before publication in the official gazette. Maaytah told journalists, "The results of the parliamentary elections confirm Jordan's keenness, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to hold fair elections with broad participation that reflect the interests of all segments and political pluralism." He said voters under 35 reached 43.5 per cent, adding that 6 of the youth group were elected to the House. Female voters reached 47.8 per cent with 27 women elected.
