RAMALLAH: Israeli colonists forced farmers to leave their lands today while they were harvesting olives in the village of Lubban al-Gharbi, located northwest of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. According to Palestinian security sources, a group of colonists attacked the farmers in the Baraish area on the outskirts of the village under the protection of the Israeli occupation army, compelling them to abandon their agricultural activities. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported in a brief statement that its teams dealt with two injuries resulting from assaults by colonists in the village, and they were transferred to the hospital for medical treatment. The olive harvest is one of the most important seasons for thousands of Palestinian households in the occupied territories whose income depends heavily on the success of this season.
