Japan Exports Surge by 19.3% in June

Abu dhabi: Japanese exports rose 19.3 percent year-on-year in June, marking the tenth consecutive month of growth, data from the Ministry of Finance showed on Wednesday. This consistent increase underscores the ongoing recovery and resilience of Japan's export sector amid global economic fluctuations.

According to Emirates News Agency, imports also saw a significant rise, growing 25.4 percent in June compared to the same period a year earlier. This growth in imports surpassed the expectations of economists, who had predicted a more modest increase.

As a consequence of the higher import growth, Japan's trade balance recorded a deficit of 406.9 billion yen (US$2.49 billion). This figure is substantially higher than the forecasted deficit of 120 billion yen, reflecting the stronger-than-anticipated import activity.
