Dubai:Keolis, a global leader in public transport, is opening a regional headquarters in Dubai to strengthen its presence and operations across the Middle East. The new office will serve as a central hub for the Group's activities and aims to foster the development of new transport projects in the region.
According to Wam, this strategic move underscores Keolis' ambition to become the leading transport operator in the Middle East. Located in Dubai, the headquarters will enable Keolis to better support the Public Transport Authorities it already collaborates with while also seeking new business opportunities.
Keolis has been operating significant transport networks throughout the Middle East. Since 2018, through a joint venture, the company has managed both the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram in Qatar, providing reliable service during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Further expanding its operations, in 2021, Keolis MHI began operating and maintaining the Dubai Metro and operating the Dubai Tram for the Roads and Transport Authority, serving a million passengers daily in the UAE. In 2026, Keolis, in partnership with Etihad Rail, launched the first passenger railway service in the UAE. The establishment of the new regional headquarters positions Keolis to extend its services to more clients in the Middle East.
Frédéric Van Heems, Chairman and CEO of Keolis Group, emphasized the importance of the Middle East as a key growth market. He highlighted the company's capability in operating world-class train, metro, and tram systems across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha, and reaffirmed the company's long-term commitment to leading major transport projects in the region. Alistair Gordon, CEO of Keolis Middle East, Asia, and Pacific Zone, noted that the new headquarters is crucial for Keolis' growth, allowing closer collaboration with clients and supporting major mobility projects in the region.
