RIO DE JANEIRO: The Consulate General of Lebanon in Rio de Janeiro has successfully coordinated the dispatch of a second medical aid shipment to Beirut, consisting of 4 tons of various medicines, following an initial shipment of 7 tons. According to National News Agency-Lebanon, the Consulate General formed a crisis cell that has been instrumental in organizing these aid shipments. The medical supplies, all sourced from Brazilian pharmaceutical companies, are specifically intended to treat war injuries, highlighting the critical nature of this humanitarian effort. The statement from the Consulate detailed the logistics of the operation, noting that the medicines were first moved to Guarulhos Air Base from Rio de Janeiro before being flown to Lebanon. This initiative is part of a broader response by the Lebanese consulate in Brazil, which has actively engaged with local pharmaceutical entities to secure these essential medical donations. The total aid thus far amounts to 11 tons of medicines, all manufacture d in Brazil, demonstrating significant international cooperation directed at alleviating medical shortages in Lebanon.
