BEIRUT: Officials, including two government ministers and several members of parliament, visited the "Stouh Beirut" organization to review its ongoing Emergency Relief Campaign aimed at supporting internally displaced Lebanese families. The campaign, coordinated with the Ministry of Social Affairs, relevant ministries, and the Lebanese Army, seeks to provide aid without sectarian bias. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the visit featured Minister of Social Affairs Hector Hajjar, Minister of Information Ziad Makary, former Minister and MP Ghassan Hasbani, MP Mark Daou, and former MP Amal Bou Zeid, among others. The officials praised the efforts of "Stouh Beirut," led by founder Dalia Dagher, and emphasized the importance of cooperation between state and civil society organizations in addressing the humanitarian needs of displaced families across Lebanon. The "Stouh Beirut" initiative initially focused on southern Lebanon but expanded its scope to assist families nationwide. The visit aimed to enco urage continued donor support and highlighted the transformation of the "Ya Habibi Ya Jnoub" concert into the "Ya Habibi Ya Lebnan" initiative. This change allowed the organization to reach a broader range of affected regions, including Rmeish, Jdeidet, Kolayaat Marjeyoun, and others. Ministers and MPs underscored the need for collaboration and unity to prevent sectarian strife and effectively manage the crisis. They commended "Stouh Beirut" for its crucial role and called for political differences to be set aside for the greater good. Dagher expressed gratitude for the diverse support and urged the government to facilitate aid transfers from the Lebanese diaspora. Dagher also announced plans to extend the initiative to international communities, with concerts in Paris and Geneva, enabling expatriates to contribute to relief efforts. She hoped for a strong turnout and ongoing support from the diaspora. Concluding her remarks, Dagher expressed hopes for a swift resolution to the crisis and the safe return of displaced families to their homes.
