Morocco Enhances Air Power with EDGE’s Precision Weapons

Marrakech:EDGE has entered into a significant contract with Morocco's Administration of National Defence to equip the Royal Moroccan Air Force with advanced weaponry.

According to Emirates News Agency, the contract, signed at the Marrakech Air Show 2026, involves the supply of DESERT STING 16 guided-glide weapons and THUNDER P-31 precision-guided munitions. These will be integrated across Morocco's fleet of unmanned combat aerial vehicles.

The agreement underscores EDGE's commitment to Morocco and Africa at large, highlighting its strategy of tailoring programs to meet specific operational requirements. Saif Al Dahbashi of EDGE emphasized the importance of providing mission-ready precision capabilities to support the Royal Moroccan Air Force's operations.

The DESERT STING 16 offers a range of up to 15 km, while the THUNDER P-31 enhances the MK 81 munition with precision-guided capabilities, extending its range to 10 km from drones and 20 km from higher-speed, higher-altitude platforms. Both systems are designed and manufactured in the UAE.

This contract is part of EDGE's broader efforts to support African nations in enhancing their security infrastructure. In Angola, EDGE is involved in a naval modernization program and a border security initiative with the Ministry of Interior.
