Kuwait city: The Muslim Council of Elders, under the leadership of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, strongly condemned the recent Iranian attacks on the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Bahrain. These attacks involved missile and drone strikes on Kuwait International Airport, causing significant material damage to the passenger terminal, resulting in the death of one individual, and injuring several others, along with damage to vital facilities, including diplomatic missions.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Council also denounced the attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain, which were similarly carried out using missiles and drones. The Council expressed its unequivocal rejection of such acts, stating that they represent a clear violation of international law, a breach of state sovereignty, and a threat to national security, stability, and civilian safety. It highlighted that targeting diplomatic missions is a criminal act prohibited under international law and diplomatic norms.
The Muslim Council of Elders voiced its solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain, affirming its support for the measures taken by both nations to ensure their security and the safety of their citizens and residents. The Council called on the international community to take responsibility in halting these attacks to preserve regional security and stability, uphold state sovereignty, and protect the safety of citizens.
