Noura Al Kaabi Leads UAE Delegation at Paris Conference to Support Lebanon Amid Escalating Crisis

PARIS: Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State, led the United Arab Emirates delegation at the International Conference in Support of Lebanon's People and Sovereignty, organized by the President of France in Paris. The event brought together 70 countries, the United Nations, the European Union, and various international and regional organizations to address the ongoing crisis in Lebanon. According to Emirates News Agency, Al Kaabi articulated the UAE's deep concerns regarding the current developments in Lebanon, emphasizing the dangerous escalation and its impact on regional stability. She reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to Lebanon's unity, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and expressed solidarity with the Lebanese people during these challenging times. Al Kaabi called on the international community to intensify efforts to achieve a ceasefire and prevent further loss of life by fully implementing UN Security Council Resolutions 1559 and 1170. She underscored the importance of addressing the human itarian crisis in Lebanon, which has displaced 1.4 million people, and called for providing essential resources such as food, shelter, and medical care. The UAE, under the direction of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has committed US$100 million in urgent relief packages to assist the Lebanese people. Additionally, US$30 million has been allocated to aid Lebanese refugees in Syria. Efforts are also being supported by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who has facilitated urgent food aid through Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. As part of the 'UAE Stands with Lebanon' campaign, 14 aircraft carrying medical, food, and shelter supplies have been dispatched via an air bridge, in coordination with the Lebanese government and international partners such as the WHO, UNHCR, UNICEF, and the IFRC. Al Kaabi further condemned violations of UN Security Council Resolutions by Israel, noting ongoing aggression on Lebanese territories. She stressed that the escalation of conflict in the Middle East heightens humanitarian, political, and security crises, threatening civilian lives. Al Kaabi also condemned attacks on the UNIFIL peacekeeping mission and urged all parties to ensure the safety of soldiers involved in UN operations.
