Muscat:The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Oman, measured at constant prices, grew by 5.1% in the second quarter of 2026, reaching approximately RO 9.9 billion, up from about RO 9.4 billion in the same quarter of the previous year.
According to Emirates News Agency, preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information highlighted significant growth in petroleum activities, which increased by 14.7% to approximately RO 3.4 billion, compared to about RO 3 billion in the second quarter of 2025.
In contrast, non-petroleum activities showed a modest increase of 0.7% in the same period, amounting to approximately RO 7.0 billion, up from about RO 6.8 billion a year earlier.
The data also revealed a 2.3% growth in agriculture and fishing activities, which totaled RO 325 million, compared to RO 317.8 million in 2025. However, industrial activities experienced a decline of 1.5%, falling to approximately RO 1.9 billion from about RO 2.0 billion in the previous year.
Service activities, meanwhile, saw an increase of 1.5%, reaching approximately RO 4.6 billion, up from about RO 4.5 billion in the second quarter of the previous year.
