OpenAI Launches Dots AI Agents to Compete with Meta’s Muse

San Francisco:OpenAI introduced its new AI agent, Dots, during its annual Developer Day in San Francisco. Dots is engineered to assist users in performing tasks over extended periods by connecting to 4,000 apps via ChatGPT.

According to Wam, OpenAI envisions users starting with a single Dot, which they can name and customize. The company also foresees the potential for users to employ entire teams of Dots working collaboratively.

The launch of Dots follows Meta's recent introduction of its Muse AI agent. OpenAI aims to meet the increasing demand for AI agents capable of managing everyday tasks with minimal supervision.

CEO Sam Altman emphasized that Dots has undergone safety testing and operates on the GPT-6 Astra model, which closely follows human directions. He remarked that this development represents a transformative way to work with AI, fulfilling long-held aspirations for AI capabilities.

Dots are equipped to handle project management, such as updating sales proposals in response to customer needs and creating working demos for evaluation. Users can interact with Dots through platforms like Slack and Teams, with the agents utilizing OpenAI's Codex and ChatGPT Work tools for research, data analysis, document preparation, and software development.
