Ramallah: Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education, Amjad Barham, held discussions with Jordan's Ambassador to Palestine, Issam Bdour, on enhancing and coordinating relief efforts for the beleaguered education sector in the Gaza Strip. According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting, which took place at the ministry's headquarters in Ramallah on Thursday, focused on strategies to support the continuation of education in Gaza, amidst the ongoing conflicts. The discussions centered on the distribution of educational packages that would enable students in Gaza to continue their studies despite the severe disruptions caused by the Israeli occupation's actions. Barham emphasized the critical need for ongoing bilateral coordination to bolster the Palestinian education sector at all levels, appreciating Jordan's role in aiding the Palestinian populace. He elaborated on several initiatives aimed at providing relief to both public and higher education in Gaza. These include the launch of virtual schools, the establishment of educational centers in displacement camps, and arranging special sessions of the high school exam specifically for Gaza students. Highlighting the shift to e-learning by Gaza universities to maintain the educational process, Barham acknowledged the efforts to facilitate the enrollment of Gaza students as visiting learners at various universities outside the Strip. He reaffirmed the commitment to collaborate with international partners to overcome the challenges and barriers imposed by the ongoing occupation. Ambassador Bdour reiterated Jordan's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, particularly the right to self-determination, and pledged continued assistance in delivering humanitarian and educational aid to Gaza. He stressed the importance of ensuring that students in Gaza are able to receive their education and preserve their academic progress despite the dire circumstances.
