BEIJING: The preparatory work for the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) has been largely completed, setting the stage for the event in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th, as announced by an official during a press conference in Beijing. According to Emirates News Agency, Tang Wenhong, Assistant Minister of Commerce of China, stated that the upcoming CIIE, themed "New Era, Shared Future," will see participation from 152 countries, regions, and international organizations. The event will be held in conjunction with the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, marking a significant economic and diplomatic event following the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Tang detailed that the preparation has reached its final stages, with the exhibition space exceeding 420,000 square meters. The forum will feature a main forum and 19 parallel sessions. He highlighted that the country exhibition will continue to serve as a major platform for showcasing trade and investment opportunities, with France, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, and Uzbekistan honored as guest countries. This year's expo will also focus on inclusivity, supporting 37 least developed countries in both country and business exhibitions, expanding the exhibition space for African products, and demonstrating China's commitment to opening up unilaterally to these nations. The CIIE will see an unprecedented number of participating countries, regions, and enterprises, including a record-breaking presence of 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and leading enterprises. Additionally, 186 enterprises and institutions will participate for the seventh consecutive time, underscoring the event's growing significance and appeal.
