Amman: Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Ali honored successful entrepreneurial and agricultural initiatives, as well as rural development projects aimed at empowering women and youth, during a ceremony held on Monday. The event underscored the significant strides taken in these sectors, with a special focus on the contribution of various organizations to the success of these initiatives. According to Jordan News Agency, the ceremony was supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Jordan Islamic Bank. During the event, participants showcased their projects funded by the Agricultural Credit Corporation (ACC), which facilitated their efforts by providing necessary training and qualifications through the Zaha Cultural Center (ZCC). Mohammad Balawneh, Director of the ACC, elaborated on the corporation's role in bolstering these projects. He highlighted that the ACC has provided extensive guidance, training, and financial assistance through favorable loans, with a remarkable success rate exceeding 70%. This support has been pivotal in the realization and sustainability of various agricultural and entrepreneurial endeavors. Nabil Assaf, FAO representative, addressed the gathering by pointing out the increasing demand among women for converting loans into grants. He shared that the FAO has responded by providing grants to 120 women in the Balqa region, emphasizing the crucial role of collaboration in driving rural development and transforming rural areas into sustainable and livable communities. Rania Subieh, Executive Director of the ZCC, spoke about the importance of effective partnerships, like those with the ACC and other public and private sector entities, which are essential for the success of entrepreneurial projects. She noted the ZCC's commitment to expanding its reach across all governorates, mentioning specific achievements such as the rehabilitation of 12 kindergartens and the installation of playrooms for children in hospitals. Subieh reiterated the center 's mission to provide quality services and foster environments that nurture talent, leadership, creativity, and innovation. The event highlighted the collective efforts and partnerships that have significantly contributed to the empowerment of women and youth in Jordan through sustainable agricultural and entrepreneurial projects.
