Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, emphasised the crucial role of the industrial sector in the UAE's economic diversification and competitiveness. This affirmation aligns with the 'We the UAE 2031' vision and the UAE Centennial 2071 goals, as highlighted during his attendance at the fifth edition of 'Make it in the Emirates' at ADNEC Abu Dhabi.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event, hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in collaboration with several entities including the Ministry of Culture, Abu Dhabi Investment Office, ADNOC, and L'IMAD Holding Company, focused on the theme 'Advanced Industry. Emerging Stronger.' It spotlighted national efforts to localize products, support national industries, and foster public-private sector partnerships, further enhancing the industrial sector's contribution to the UAE's GDP.
H.H. Sheikh Saud underscored Ras Al Khaimah's proactive role in advancing the UAE's industrial vision through participation in the event. He noted that the manufacturing sector significantly contributes 27% to the emirate's GDP, showcasing the strength and diversity of its industrial base. The emirate's strategy balances economic growth with sustainability, attracting industrial investments and fostering an ecosystem conducive to innovation and advanced industry expansion.
During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Saud explored innovations across various sectors such as advanced manufacturing, technology, and artificial intelligence. He was briefed on initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency and localizing industries, praising national companies for their contributions to Ras Al Khaimah's and the UAE's industrial growth.
A pivotal moment of the visit was the signing of two strategic agreements by Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zones (RAKEZ) with MAGRABi Retail Group and Mighty Industrial Park. These agreements reflect investor confidence in Ras Al Khaimah's industrial capabilities. The first agreement with Magrabi Group aims to establish a centre for store manufacturing, focusing on furnishing and retail concept development, serving up to 140 stores annually and creating 100 job opportunities.
The second agreement with Mighty Industrial Park will develop an integrated UAE-Chinese industrial complex for metal recycling and refining, promoting circular economy practices and enhancing green manufacturing. These projects highlight RAKEZ's expanding role in supporting the industrial sector, currently hosting around 40,000 companies, including nearly 1,000 industrial firms, and offering a robust infrastructure for business growth.
