Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has been honored with the 2024 SAG Award for Special Achievement in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for its innovative use of the technology in its Enterprise GIS Platform. This platform has significantly enhanced operational efficiency, supported strategic decision-making, and improved public service quality, aligning with the Dubai Government's strategic objectives. According to Emirates News Agency, the SAG Award acknowledges RTA's outstanding application of GIS technology through its Enterprise GIS Platform. This system has been instrumental in elevating the quality of services offered to the public and optimizing the infrastructure management in Dubai. Hessa Al Suwaidi, Director of Information Technology at RTA, highlighted that the platform utilizes Esri technology and adheres to the highest standards of information security and operational flexibility. Al Suwaidi emphasized that the award reaffirms RTA's role as a technological leader and a strategic partner in enhancing Dubai's smart infrastructure. "The platform ensures business continuity, rapid disaster recovery, and the automation of operational tasks, which significantly contributes to RTA's mission to provide top-tier services and support the sustainable development of the city," Al Suwaidi stated. She also mentioned that this recognition underscores RTA's commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies to boost efficiency and support Dubai's vision as a progressive and sustainable city on a regional and international scale.
