Several Palestinians suffocated by tear gas fired by Israeli forces on Friday during confrontations in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, said local sources. Sources told WAFA that several Palestinians suffocated after inhaling tear gas fired at them by Israeli soldiers during the confrontations. Forces also targeted a Palestinian Medical Relief Society ambulance with a tear gas bomb, shattering its windshield. In a related context, the occupation forces suppressed the weekly anti-settlement march in the town of Beita with live bullets and tear gas canisters, causing several Palestinians to suffocate by tear gas. The Medical Relief Society reported that its teams treated 20 cases of suffocation, provided on-site care to the injured, and transported one individual to the hospital for further treatment. The town of Beita has been repeatedly attacked by Israeli occupation forces and colonists, following the establishment of the Avitar colonial outpost on the citizens' land atop Jabal Sbaih. On September 6, Israeli forces killed a 26-year-old US-Turkish woman during the weekly anti-settlement protest, bringing the total number of those killed since the "Avitar" outpost was established in May 2021 to 18.
