Shurooq and SANAM Group to Develop $50 Million K-12 School in Sharjah Sustainable City

Sharjah: The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has signed an agreement with SANAM Group to develop a new K-12 school in Sharjah Sustainable City. The project is expected to reach an investment value of up to $50 million over the coming years and will be developed on a 29,275-square-metre plot owned by Shurooq in Sharjah Sustainable City, located in Um Fanain / Al Ruqa Al Hamra.

According to Emirates News Agency, the school will follow the American curriculum and will serve around 2,435 students from kindergarten to Grade 12 under a 35-year agreement. The agreement was signed by Yousif Al Mutawa, Chief Real Estate Officer of Shurooq, and Dr. Sulaiman Tareq Al Abduljader, Vice Chairman and CEO of SANAM Group.

Yousif Al Mutawa stated that the agreement reflects Shurooq's commitment to developing projects that cater to the practical needs of Sharjah's communities while creating long-term value from strategic land assets. He emphasized the importance of education as a key component of a complete residential community and highlighted the school's role in supporting families and enhancing the quality of life in Sharjah Sustainable City.

Dr. Sulaiman Tareq Al Abduljader noted that the partnership with Shurooq is a significant step in advancing SANAM's long-term vision for sustainable education investments. He pointed out Sharjah's position as a leading hub for sustainable urban and educational development, making it an ideal destination for such projects.

The new school will contribute to the education infrastructure of Sharjah Sustainable City, which is designed around sustainability, family living, and integrated services. The development is part of Shurooq's efforts to activate strategic land assets through long-term partnerships, addressing the needs of Sharjah's growing communities.

The school will be designed as a modern, student-centred learning environment, incorporating advanced technologies, sustainability, wellbeing, and collaborative learning across all academic stages. It will include modern classrooms, science laboratories, IT facilities, and spaces for robotics, engineering, and mathematics. Additional features include arts studios, a black box theatre, and a 500-seat multi-purpose hall.

The kindergarten section will be an independent area with dedicated privacy and safety measures. The school will also offer a learning support centre, sports and recreation facilities, green spaces, and various amenities to create a comprehensive educational environment.
