Sharjah: At a recent board meeting led by Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP) outlined an ambitious strategic development plan aimed at further establishing the Park as a leading hub for research and development (R and D) and innovation. The meeting focused on the importance of synergistic partnerships across academia and industry to propel SRTIP into its next phase of growth. According to Emirates News Agency, the board meeting opened with Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi expressing gratitude for the ongoing support from board members and highlighting the leadership of SRTIP CEO Hussain Al Mahmoudi. Sheikha Bodour emphasized the critical role of industry and academic partnerships in achieving SRTIP's vision, noting, "Our industry and academic partners are vital pillars of our innovation ecosystem. By leveraging their research capabilities, we are developing cutting-edge solutions that address both local and global challenges in sectors like mobility, sustainability, and healthcare." SRTIP CEO Hussain Al Mahmoudi provided an update on the transition from Phase 1 to Phase 2 of SRTIP's strategic plan, which includes reviewing and refining the strategy to enhance competitiveness and identify new focus areas. "We are excited to deliver the vision of the Park into reality and are utilizing the tremendous experience and support of the board alongside our growing team here at SRTIP," Al Mahmoudi stated. He also highlighted successful activities and programs, such as the Women in Technology Forum and the Seal the Deal platform, which have significantly contributed to the Park's community engagement and outreach. Dr. Fareed Al Ameeri, SRTIP's Chief Strategy Officer, presented a review of key projects and focus areas identified to support the Park's future growth. The meeting concluded with the board reviewing SRTIP's financial performance over the past year, expressing satisfaction with the results and approving the audit conducted by KMPG, which affirmed the Park's fiscal and o perational integrity.
