Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UOS), attended the graduation ceremony for 560 female bachelor's degree graduates of the Spring 2026 class at the University of Sharjah on Monday morning. The ceremony was held at University City Hall.
According to Emirates News Agency, the ceremony began with the UAE national anthem, followed by verses from the Holy Quran. Professor Dr. Issam Al-Din Ibrahim Ajami, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, delivered a speech congratulating the graduates and emphasizing that the occasion marks a significant milestone in their academic and professional journeys. He highlighted the university's achievements in international rankings and excellence in research and sport, reflecting its vision of preparing graduates to serve their communities effectively.
Dr. Ajami cited historical examples from Islamic civilization, particularly the role of women in advancing knowledge, and encouraged graduates to draw inspiration from these values. He emphasized that education equips individuals with the knowledge and awareness needed to fulfill their responsibilities effectively. He praised H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi for her pioneering initiatives and institutions that have supported families and children, empowered women, and advanced humanitarian work.
The Chancellor expressed gratitude to the graduates' parents and the university's staff for their efforts in helping the graduates reach this milestone. He encouraged the graduates to continue contributing to their community and nation, becoming part of the UAE's ongoing development and progress.
Al Anoud Salem Al Ketbi, a graduate of the College of Computing and Informatics, delivered the graduates' speech, expressing pride in being part of the University of Sharjah. She noted the university's role in shaping their personalities and preparing them for future challenges and opportunities. Al Ketbi praised the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for their support and encouragement.
She extended gratitude to the university's staff and her parents for their support and sacrifices, encouraging her fellow graduates to continue their journey of excellence and contribution, serving as ambassadors of learning and innovation.
