Abu Dhabi:Tadweer Group is set to launch the inaugural outdoor edition of ECORUN at Hudayriyat Island on November 1, 2026. The event will feature races of 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km, alongside a prize pool of AED 100,000 and various rewards. An ECORUN Village, free to enter, will offer live entertainment and activities centered on sustainability, health, and well-being.
According to Emirates News Agency, this expanded edition builds on the previous success, which saw participation from over 740 individuals representing more than 55 nationalities. Abdulwahed Juma, Executive Director of Communications and Awareness at Tadweer Group, emphasized the event's growth and commitment to community engagement. He noted the event's focus on combining physical activity with environmental awareness and sustainable practices to enhance quality of life and support Abu Dhabi's circular economy.
The 5 km and 10 km races will be competitive with professional chip timing, while the 3 km category will provide a fun, inclusive experience for all fitness levels. Participants can walk, jog, or run at their own pace, making it suitable for families and individuals of diverse abilities.
The ECORUN Village aims to provide a comprehensive experience with family entertainment, sustainability activities, fitness sessions, and healthy food options. Sustainability efforts will be prominent, utilizing reusable and recycled materials, and reducing single-use plastics.
The event will commence on November 1 with check-in at 530 a.m. The 10 km race begins at 715 a.m., followed by the 5 km race at 720 a.m., and the 3 km fun run at 730 a.m.
