SÃo paulo: TRENDS Research and Advisory has inaugurated a virtual office in São Paulo, Brazil, marking a significant expansion of its international operations. The new office was launched in conjunction with the organization's role as a Diamond Sponsor at the Brazil-Africa Forum 2024, underscoring its commitment to enhancing research and academic collaboration across Latin America. According to Emirates News Agency, the establishment of the São Paulo office is part of TRENDS' strategic initiative to foster intellectual exchange and strengthen its research capabilities internationally. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, highlighted that the new office serves as a vital link for sharing expertise and resources between think tanks and academic institutions globally. He emphasized that this move aligns with the Centre's overarching research strategy aimed at producing impactful knowledge, particularly in the area of foresight studies. During the launch event, Dr. Al-Ali shared insights into the Centre 's objectives for the virtual office, noting that it will act as a springboard for scientific and knowledge production collaborations, and support intellectual communication between regional and international think tanks. He also mentioned that TRENDS' tour in Latin America includes future engagements in Argentina, which demonstrates the organization's commitment to broadening its academic and research influence across the continent. Awadh Al-Breiki, Researcher and Head of TRENDS Global Sector, further elaborated on the role of the new office in São Paulo. He described it as a global knowledge bridge that not only connects but also integrates TRENDS' efforts with those of other research entities in the Arab world and the Gulf region. Al-Breiki pointed out that the São Paulo virtual office will assist the main office in Abu Dhabi by contributing to TRENDS' research outputs across various disciplines, reflecting a diverse range of academic cultures and perspectives.
