UAE and Finland Collaborate on Government Development at Helsinki Forum

Helsinki:The Governments of the UAE and Finland organized the Government Experience Exchange Forum in Helsinki, part of their partnership in government development. The event convened senior officials, policymakers, and experts from both nations to discuss future government strategies.

According to Emirates News Agency, the forum served as a platform to share insights on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, education, and transport. It aimed to explore joint initiatives that could be implemented across both countries.

Key speakers included Finland's Minister of Local and Regional Government, Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, and UAE's Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Government Experience Exchange, Mohamed bin Taliah. Ikonen emphasized cooperation in AI innovation, while Bin Taliah noted the forum's role in developing scalable government solutions.

UAE Ambassador Amna Fikri highlighted the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2025, which underpins the forum's activities and future cooperation. The forum included discussions on enhancing government services and the integration of AI in public sector operations.

The UAE delegation featured prominent figures such as Eng. Mohammed Al Qasim and Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, among others. Finnish participants included Tuula Yrjölä and Anssi Kärkkäinen. Sessions covered topics like cybersecurity and the evolution of government services, underscoring the importance of bilateral cooperation in these areas.
