UAE and Zambia Presidents Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Abu Dhabi:UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema, the President of Zambia, who is on a working visit to the UAE. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries.

According to Emirates News Agency, during their discussions, the two leaders reviewed the development of UAE-Zambia relations, particularly in the areas of the economy, renewable energy, and infrastructure. They also explored opportunities to expand cooperation in support of shared interests and priorities.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship, which has lasted for over 50 years. They emphasized the importance of advancing development partnerships that support economic diversification and prosperity for both nations.

The meeting also covered ongoing negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and Zambia. Both leaders expressed hope that the agreement, once finalized, would significantly enhance economic relations and provide a framework for expanded cooperation in both the public and private sectors.

Several key UAE figures attended the meeting, including H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and other prominent sheikhs, ministers, and officials.
