Dubai: In a significant move to bolster national and regional cybersecurity, ORYXLABS, an EDGE entity specializing in digital risk protection and advanced cyber solutions, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE Cybersecurity Council. This event took place at GITEX Global 2024, hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The MoU, signed amidst the technological showcase which will run until October 18, aims to enhance collaborative efforts in information security and digital resilience between the two entities. According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU outlines a strategic framework where ORYXLABS and the UAE Cybersecurity Council will share insights on security risks and coordinate responses to information security incidents. This partnership is set to fortify the protection of critical infrastructure and national assets against cyber threats, a priority for the UAE government. The collaboration between ORYXLABS and the UAE Cybersecurity Council is not new. It builds upon their prior joint eff ort on the State of the Nation: GCC Report, released during the same event. This report provides a detailed analysis of cybersecurity challenges across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, stressing the necessity for synchronized actions to enhance the region's cyber resilience and safeguard its digital future. Sumit Dhar, CEO of ORYXLABS, highlighted the significance of this partnership, stating, "Our collaboration with the UAE Cybersecurity Council, demonstrated through the in-depth State of the Nation: GCC report and reinforced by today's MoU, establishes a clear framework to enhance information security and strengthen digital resilience across the UAE and the wider region." Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al-Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, also expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing partnership. He emphasized the importance of bolstering collaboration between public and private sectors to enhance the national and regional digital security infrastructure. Dr. Al-Kuwaiti pointed out t hat cybersecurity is crucial for digital transformation and requires adaptability to address emerging challenges and threats effectively. The State of the Nation: GCC report, the first of its kind, involved extensive data collection and analysis, covering 2 million domains across six GCC countries and analyzing over 13 million data points. This comprehensive study provides valuable insights into the region's email security landscape, identifies implementation gaps, and offers actionable recommendations for enhancing cybersecurity measures. ORYXLABS, known for its innovative software solutions like DNS FIREWALL and DISCOVERY, continues to lead in areas such as attack surface management, risk assessment, and DNS monitoring and protection, contributing significantly to the cybersecurity ecosystem.
