UAE Denounces Fatal Attack on Oil Tanker Crew Near Somalia

Abu Dhabi:The United Arab Emirates has condemned the killing and wounding of crew members aboard the hijacked oil products tanker MT Honour 25 off the coast of Somalia during an operation to free the vessel.

According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) issued a statement expressing solidarity with the families of the victims and wishing a speedy recovery for all those injured.

The Ministry emphasized that such criminal acts pose a serious threat to maritime security and the safety of international trade routes. It underscored the importance of maritime navigation security as a key pillar of global economic stability and international trade.

In light of these events, the UAE renewed its call for improved regional and international cooperation to protect commercial vessels, ensure the safety of their crews, and maintain the security and stability of maritime navigation.
