Abu dhabi: The final round of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu Championship continued at Mubadala Arena, showcasing competitions for kids, youth, and juveniles. The event attracted a record 1,400 athletes from around the world. The UAE led the second day standings, surpassing Brazil and Russia, while Al Jazira Club topped the academies rankings, followed by ADMA Academy and Al Ain Club.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event was attended by senior sports officials and UFC star Khamzat Chimaev, who commended Abu Dhabi’s role in developing jiu-jitsu on a global scale and emphasized the sport’s significance in mixed martial arts. Officials stated that the strong participation indicates the success of initiatives to expand the sport and develop young talent.
The championship also featured a family-friendly atmosphere with enthusiastic crowd support. The event is set to conclude tomorrow with professional division competitions and the recognition of the season’s top-ranked athletes.
