ABU DHABI: In a significant meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organisations, met with Xavier Castellanos Mosquera, Under Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions were aimed at exploring further collaborations and strengthening the relationship between the UAE and the IFRC, with a particular focus on the increasing humanitarian needs both regionally and globally. During the meeting, Al Shamsi emphasized the UAE's commitment to providing timely humanitarian aid in cooperation with international entities like the IFRC. He highlighted the active role of the UAE in international relief efforts and its determination to continue delivering aid to those most in need. Al Shamsi's remarks underscored the values of Emirati society and its leadership in global humanitarian efforts . For his part, IFRC Under Secretary General Mosquera reiterated the federation's dedication to enhancing partnerships based on the principles of humanitarian action. He stressed the importance of strategic collaboration in addressing the world's urgent challenges and expressed confidence that by working together, impactful and sustainable solutions can be achieved that transcend national boundaries and contribute to global well-being.
